At Rise Music, we offer a joyful and inclusive learning experience for children and teens to grow in confidence, expression, and connection through the power of music. Our courses, lessons, and special days are focused on rhythm, movement, sound, and play, providing a unique platform for students to explore their musical talents.
Marc James is a musician, songwriter, producer and worship leader who has spent more than 30 years making music, performing, recording and working with musicians of all ages and backgrounds.
As a guitarist and songwriter, Marc has worked across an unusually broad musical landscape — from rock, blues and country to gospel, folk and contemporary music. He has toured and performed internationally, played at major festivals including Hyde Park’s Masters of Rock, and worked alongside artists such as Steve Balsamo and Pete Doherty. As a session musician, he has played guitar and pedal steel on more than 30 albums, and continues to record and collaborate with artists including Held By Trees.
Marc is also an established songwriter and recording artist in his own right, with songs recorded and released through projects including Vineyard Music and Integrity Music.
But for Marc, music has never simply been about performance. It’s about discovering what you have to say and finding the courage to express it.
That’s at the heart of Rise Music.
Having spent many years working with musicians, worship teams, young people and emerging artists, Marc loves creating spaces where people can experiment, make mistakes, ask questions and discover that they really can make music.
Whether someone picks up an instrument for the first time, discovers a style of music they’ve never encountered before, or finds a confidence they didn’t know they had, Marc believes every young person has something worth expressing.
